In a howling wind, Jo Hopgood scored very well to win the Axe Cliff stableford on 32 points, closely followed by Ang Higgins and Jill Wellington.
The previous week, Stella Thompson showed her true class by winning with 35 points but was pushed all the way by Sandra Waker who was second on 34 points.
The Seniors played their final friendly of the season, taking on a strong Cricket St Thomas team. Trailing 3-2 and going down to the final pair of Mark Wisby and Dave Bruce, the Axe Cliff duo played superbly to earn a draw.
In the original away match, Dave was partnered by Geoff Hughes, who is in hospital at the moment with heart trouble, giving the nurses a hard time with his endless stories, but we all wish him a speedy recovery.
In the prestigious Silver Salver Trophy, the winning trio was Alan Morgan, Stuart Mackie and Nigel Pritchard.
