The Beer Blazers netball team captain is stepping down from her role after seven years in charge.

Rosie Bennett may be handing over the captaincy, but her footprint on the team is long-lasting.

Her transformative leadership propelled them from the bottom of the lowest division in the Honiton Netball League to the heights of Division 1.

Her strategy and dedication have been key to their ascension through the ranks.

Ms Bennett is a versatile player, often opting to play in positions others were unwilling or unable to play, showcasing her adaptability and skill across a wide range of roles.

In recent seasons, she has fine-tuned her defensive skills by regularly playing goal keeper.

Amanda Partridge, a team member, said: "Rosie was always inclusive and encouraging.

"Her enthusiasm for the game always came through, but what also always stood out is how kind and supportive she was."

Ash Abbott added: "From the moment I joined the team, Rosie made sure I felt comfortable amongst new teammates whilst starting a new sport.

"She is my biggest hype woman and has put her heart and soul into getting Beer Blazers to the top end of Division 1.

"I have gained a friend for life – on, and off, the court.”

Despite stepping down from her role as captain, Ms Bennett will stay a vital part of the team.

Alara Jenkins will take over the reigns as captain.
