The winner of Division One was the new category one golfer Alex Anning with an impressive gross score 71, nett 65. His handicap is now down to 2.5, beating T Glover and Alex Todd by one shot.

Alex also picked up the Cosh Trophy, which all the year's medal winners are entered into.

The Ladies played their first Australian Spoons competition. It was a foursome format, in lovely winter conditions.

The winners were Dawn Stewart and Barbara Cummings with 24 points.

Despite the early threat of fog, only the occasional burst of rain, accompanied by an increasing south westerly, disturbed the seniors for the first Stableford of 2008 last Friday.

In the conditions, the scores were remarkably good with 12 players out of 34 scoring 35 points or better.

The winner, with 39 points, was John Pugh (19) but only on the inward half ruling from Peter Knighting (14) who also amassed 39 points to claim second spot.

Three players scored 38 points with third place on the better last six holes going to Norman Stone (26) with Mike Parsons and Gilbert Cox the players to miss out on the prizes.
