Horse Racing - Honor Bound heads for the finishing line at Lingfield Park

Honor Bound - a horse bred by Brian and Jane Hammonds Ashley House Stud based near Axminster in East Devon won the Oaks Trial Listed race at Lingfield and now looks to go to Epsom for the Group 1 Oaks which is the best race in Europe for three-year-old fillies.

This success follows on from the studs Treasure Beach who won the Irish Derby - Chester Vase and several other top races - Hototo who won a listed race at Royal Ascot in 2012 as did Elidor in 2013.

Beacon Lady is another performing well and has now won six races plus Haayil who has won twice this year in Qatar.

Hammond said: “The last few weeks have been incredible as we have had six winners here and abroad, but Honor Bound’s win is the most satisfactory as I still own the horse and feel there is more to come from her.”
