AVR’s Ferenc Kovacs runs the Royal Parks half marathon

AVR’s Ferenc Kovacs ran the Royal Parks half marathon in London. In extremely wet conditions, he finished 4,286th from a crowd of over 20,000 on this stunning route with 1:52:54.

This was Ferenc’s first attempt to run two half marathons in two weeks as the previous Sunday Ferenc ran the Bournemouth half marathon in very stunning, sunny conditions, and finished 1518th in 1:55:14.

Thankfully, the morning rain stopped just before the start of the Fan Fawr Race in the Brecon Beacons on Saturday, but a cold gale force wind meant gloves and hat for Richard Hale running in the 30th anniversary of the tough Fell Race. It’s a simple two-mile route straight uphill and through an upland bog before a final lung busting, legs burning, ‘hands on knees’ climb up ‘the wall’ leading along the ridge to the stone cairn at 734m.

The return meant disengaging the brain for a thrilling and breathtaking descent to the finish. Richard’s time was 29:06.
