The Bovey Beauty is a 10-mile fell race over some of the most rugged and remote areas of East Dartmoor with 560 metres of climb, writes Chris Keeffe.

Three AVRs took part in this very muddy and enjoyable race. The race was won again by AVR’s Tim Lenton, who finished in 1:22.

Next AVR home was Graham Newton, in 12th place overall, and first in the MV60 category. Roger Bramley completed the trio of AVRs at the meeting.

Meanwhile, another AVR, Carol Austin ran the Taunton 10k, an event very well organised by Deane DLO, which attracted 700 entries and took place on picturesque, quiet, undulating country roads on the outskirts of the town. She finished 182nd in 49:40 winning a prize for first W55.
