AVRs Luke Reed in top four at Salty Sea Dog Sprint Triathlon

08:01 27 August 2014

AVRs Luke Reed drove to Bournemouth early on Saturday morning to take part in the Salty Sea Dog Sprint Triathlon organised by Votwo events, writes Dave Mutter.

It consisted of a mass start two-lap 750m sea swim which he completed in 11:24 followed by a 14-mile two-lap bike course with one significant hill at the beginning of each lap.

Reed managed 42:51 for this. The 5k run was a flat two-lap course along the Boscombe sea front which he completed in a time of 19:17.

This gave him an overall time of 1:15:09 and fourth place overall out of 130 finishers. The race was won in 1:11:03 by former AVR Richard Easton.
