The Axe Cliff ladies enjoyed another sunny and warm day for their Monthly Medal, the second round of the putting competition and next round of the Axe Cliff Cup, writes Dave Bruce.

The conditions suited some more than others, but the result was close with the in-form Stella Thompson taking first spot with a nett 70 and having her handicap cut again. (Is she getting free tuition from pro husband Andrew?) Second and third went to a countback on nett 72 with Helen Kenworthy stealing it from Jo Donmall.

Two teams of three ladies represented Axe Cliff at Thurleston Golf Club in the County Bowmaker and did well to finish in the middle of the field on a grey misty day.
