After getting soaked on Monday with the seniors, Axe Cliff lady captain Caroline Bond sensibly decided the next game in the week was to be a fun one, writes Dave Bruce.

She went for a format of four clubs and a putter, played over 15 holes.

Although the weather was not as bad as Monday, it was cool and drizzly and a very close game ensued. The top five were given the choice of flowers or delicious-looking chocolates! Top spot, after countback, went to the section’s newest member, Jo Hopgood, with 24 points. Sandra Walker, also on 24, took second with Stella Thompson (24), third and the next two home were Barbara Cummings (23) and Paula Heasman (22).
