The Tigers fell to Sector Lane defeat for the second time this season when well beaten by the visitors.
The South Devon side arrived seeking only their second win on the road this term whilst the Tigers went into the contest fresh from an excellent 2-2 home draw with Stoke Gabriel just seven days after they succumbed to their first Sector Lane defeat of the league campaign.
It had all started so well for the Tigers and they swept into a 15th minute lead when Aaron Doble struck after some fine approach play from Alex Wheatley.
The lead was held for 15 minutes, and the visitors were then awarded a penalty three minutes before the break that they tucked away.
Two second half goals consigned Town to defeat.
On Saturday the Tigers are again at home when they look to complete the seasons double over an Appledore side they beat 3-2 in North Devon back in September.
