Beer and District Sea Angling Association staging junior shore competition

PUBLISHED: 08:17 20 August 2014 | UPDATED: 08:17 20 August 2014

The Beer and District Sea Angling Association are to host a junior shore competition this coming weekend, writes Dan Ward.

The event takes place on Sunday (August 24) with competitors signing in from 4pm and fishing running from 5pm to 8pm at Trevelyan Garden, Seaton beach.

For those unacquainted with the area this is where the big anchor is situated at the eastern end of the beach.

The competition is open to anyone under 16 years of age, but they do need to be accompanied by an adult. Entry is free and there will be prizes to win thanks to the generosity of sponsors, Ledger Scaffolding and Seaton Angling Centre.

Rules for the competition are one rod and three hooks and the winner will be determined by the total length of fish caught.

Adults may help the child in any way except landing the fish.

It promises to be a ‘great fun’ event and hopefully it will be well supported.
