The rains were once again responsible for washing out almost the entire Fresha League fixture list for the third Saturday in February, writes Steve Birley.

It shows just how much rain fell in the week that even Feniton’s normally ‘rain-resistant’ Acland Park was deemed unfit for play!

The one place to beat the rain was Furzebrake, Beer which staged the Beer Albion Reserves versus Bow AAC Reserves Fresha Division Five game with a 3pm kick-off.

Just one game survived the weather out of the entire South West Peninsula League Premier or Eastern Division programmes.

That was the Budleigh Salterton versus Galmpton United clash at Greenway Lane, Budleigh (3pm).

Honiton Town also have action on another soggy Saturday for their Firewatch Devon Senior Cup at Dartmouth beat the rain.

Eight of the last nine Saturday’s have been hit by rain meaning the Fresha League has seen only 59 out of a possible 450 matches played!
