Big day at Wincanton

Wincanton stages its richest raceday of the season on Saturday, November 10 when a feast of top class action coupled with a bumper crowd of racegoers will ensure the atmosphere is buzzing.

The Badger Ales Trophy is one of the early highlights of the jump season and attracts a plethora of chasing stars that use the race as their seasonal campaign debut. Seven-time Champion, Somerset-based trainer, Paul Nicholls, likes to targets the £60,000 contest with a handful of hopeful contenders. With one the bounce race victories, he’s the trainer to follow in the Badger Ales Trophy betting market.

While the Badger Ales Trophy is the highlight, the totepool.com Elite Hurdle with a £57,500 jackpot is also renowned for providing scintillating action with top prospects likely to line up.

The first of seven races gets underway at 12.35pm and advanced tickets are available from £14. There is a complimentary bus service that will meet trains coming into Templecombe at 10.25am (London Waterloo) and 10.43am (Exeter St Davids) and will leave the racecourse at 4.15pm.

Wincanton’s Closer to the Action, a campaign that features on weekend fixtures to help racegoers get the most from their day, will be in operation offering racegoers the chance to go behind the scenes before racing and visit the weighing room and the judges box as well as get a feel for life as a Trainer and a Jockey. Wincanton will also stage trips to the start for the first three races today. Meeting point: Outside weighing room, departing promptly 15-minutes before the start of each race.
