Ten years after climbing out of the Devon League A Division Budleigh will start next season back at that level.
That is the inevitable outcome after the third Saturday in August resulted in a washout across the Francs Clark League.
With two games remaining and a maximum of 44 points available the Ottermouth men sit rock bottom, 35-points from safety.
Their final two top flight games see them entertain Exeter on Saturday before a last day visit to Sidmouth.
In the past ten years of top flight cricket at Ottermouth the side were crowned champions once, in 2006, when they finished 11 points clear of Paignton and Sandford at the top of the table.
They were second two years later when finishing 14 points behind champions’ Sidmouth.
In recent season’s the side has finished sixth twice, then fourth in 2001 before last season’s seventh placed finish.
