Upottery bagged an excellent point from a 2-2 draw at Colaton Raleigh.
A close encounter was brought into life midway through the first half when left back Matthew Button-Stephens ventured forward before unleashing a 25-yard drive with his right foot that flew into the net.
The hosts levelled before the break, but the lead was restored when a sweeping passing move ended with Catalin Pislaru adding to his growing tally of Upottery goals. Thereafter, the villagers spurned a number of excellent chances and paid a price for their failings in front of goal when the home side struck a late equaliser.
Boss Dan Prettejohn said: “It’s a great point but I can’t help thinking it ought to have been three for us. Our goals were special, the first a rare one from Matthew (Button-Stephens) whilst the second was a superbly manufactured effort. However, we ought to have put the game to bed and had the chances to do so.” On Saturday Upottery take on Bickleigh.
