A large field played in this weeks Tuesday Mixed Christmas Bring and Win Competition - format Greensome Stableford, writes Andy Wagner.
After all the recent wet weather members were pleased to be striding the fairways - getting some much needed exercise before the Christmas Indulgence starts - and although we played on temporary greens the course was in good condition - thanks to the Green Staff.
The prize table looked very festive and everyone was a winner. A vote of thanks was given by Max Pipe to Jennifer and Richard Pyle who have overseen the competitions during the year.
The Ladies Section played a Surprise Stableford where all the score cards were faced downwards on the table and picked up in groups of three3
The stableford scores of the groups were added together and first place went to Carol Cole, Jan Portlock and Janet Hughes with 96 points.
Second place went to Majsan Stroud, Gill Johnson and Ann Trayling with 93 points and third spot was claimed by Diana Gee, Julie Eyes and Maureen McIlvean with 92 points.
This was a fun game where bottom score could be top and vice versa and just the ticket for a really cold and frosty morning.
