Archant

Axminster came a cropper when they entertained Shobrooke Park who departed Cloakham Lawns with a 21 point haul from a whopping 147-run win.

The Mid Devon side batted first and were bowled out for 226 with Matt Pyle and Gary Larcombe each bagging a brace of wickets.

Post tea, home wickets fell at an alarming rate with the final one falling with the score board showing just 79 runs!

The five points that Axminster took from the game leave them sitting sixth in the table. They are a comfortable 38 points clear of the drop zone, but in danger of being cast adrift from the top five unless they can bank a decent haul of points this weekend when they travel to Thorverton who sit immediately above them, a dozen points better off.
