Sidmouth 2nds will be crowned Francis Clark Devon League 2nd XI champions once they bank their 13th point in tomorrow’s game at Heathcoat.

With two games to play and second placed Exeter sitting 32 points adrift it is now just a question of when the wining line is crossed and the club are able to celebrate a top flight title winning double!

Last Saturday the 2nds banked the maximum 22 points available when they put visiting Exmouth to the sword.

Luke Bess (93), Nick Gingell (68) and Harvey Sargent (53) all contributed with the bat in an imposing total of 285-8 declared.

Adam Dibble then claimed a fivefer, finishing with figures of 5-43 as the Maer men were bowled out for 125.

Sidmouth III are in the hunt for a top three finish in the 2nd XI B Division. They go into tomorrow’s game at home to Cornwood III sitting fourth, four points behind third in the table Brixham.

Last Saturday they defeated Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough II by 130 runs. Graham Munday scored 35 in the Sidmouth 200-8. It took just 21 overs and one delivery to bundle the Plymouth side out for 70!
