There was cup heart-break for Honiton Town as they were beaten 4-1 by a strong Tiverton Town in the semi-finals of the Firewatch Devon Senior Cup.

Town conceded three penalties in the game, two were scored and the other missed as former Willand Rovers Western league striker Lee Woodman hit a hat-trick.

Mark Bowles netted for gallant Honiton.

In the Fresha League the most eye-catching result was the one at Colyford Road, Seaton where Feniton suffered their first away defeat of the league campaign, beaten 3-1 by Seaton Town who netted via Dan Norman (2) and Josh French with Dave O’Connor bagging the other.

Feniton stay second behind non playing leaders Hatherleigh Town who know sit two points clear of the Blues having played one game less

Beer Albion won their ‘must-win’ encounter at Clyst valley to put a ten point’s cushion between the sides in the bottom half of the Premier Division table.

A week after becoming the first team to defeat Division Three high fliers Crediton United, Upottery came back to earth with a bump, beaten by the odd goal in seven at home to Newton St Cyres.

Offwell Rangers drew 1-1 with hosts Ottery St Mary.

Axminster Town Reserves were 5-2 home winners over Exmouth Town’s second string in Division Four.

Dunkeswell Rovers climbed into the top three of Division Six thanks to a 3-2 home win over Amory Argyle.
