Del Cup triumph for Tricia Swindell at Honiton

08:01 27 August 2014

On a day when my ball chose to play in the sand, hide behind trees and dance around the hole, it was heartening to see that someone was having a good day - in fact lots of people were having a really good day, writes Linda Knapman.

In the second round of the Del Cup, Tricia Swindell had another tremendous score of 38 stableford points to add to her first round score of 42 points winning the cup with a grand total of 80 points.

The runner-up was Catherine Doherty with rounds of 38 and 36 points (total 74).

In the monthly stableford, Liz Rogers once again came in with a huge score of 40 points, taking first place in Bronze Two Division, with Sheila Palmer in second place with 33 points. Bronze One Division winner was Elizabeth Wood with 37 points, just ahead of Catherine Doherty with 36 points. Following last week’s hole-in-one, Jackie Seager kept up her great winning streak, taking first place in Silver Division with 38 points, while Tricia Swindell was second with 36 points.

The nine-hole stableford qualifier was won by Sheila Jelly with 15 points.
