Rudolph’s and Mr and Mrs Christmases were everywhere during the pre-Christmas Otterton Reindeer 10K Run early on Saturday morning, writes Dave Mutter.

It was great running weather with cloudless blue skies along muddy trails and tracks, crunching frosty grass and steep hills.

There were 196 finishers on the undulating route that was altered due to recent floods, resulting on many times being a little slower than previous years.

Patrick Devine-Write had a good old tussle, ending up first male 40 and third overall in 40:34.

Martin Croad had a great run finishing 23rd in 49:09 while Robin Carter battled with three other ladies, but outsprinted them to be the second lady finisher, first over 50 in 50:07.

Roger Bramley was 50th in 52:52; a vastly improved Sam Wickins 62nd, 54:42 and Richard Hale 74th, 56:00.

Mia Bartlett had a super run in the shorter 3K Reindeer Fun Run, she was 25th overall out of 163 and first under 12 girl in 15:51.
