Devine-Wright second at Kilmington Kanter

Patrick Devine-Wright had a great run at the Kilmington Kanter seven-mile multi terrain race, writes Dave Mutter

Devine-Wright, who has enjoyd a great 2014 so far, finished second in 43:35.

Luke Reed was seventh in 47:27 and the other AVR runner in the top ten was James Trewick, tenth in 48:18.

The other AVR runners to compete were; Tim Sibley 14th, 50:40; Phil Bayliss 16th, 50:56 and first over 60. Ian Apps, 22nd, 53:00; Paul Johns 26th, 53:42; Eleanor Wood 28th and first over 55 lady taking 54:15.

James Sibley was 31st, 55:15; Steven Lewis 35th, 56:12 and had a ding dong battle with Robin Britton who was only four seconds and one place adrift with Nick Adams one second behind Robin!

Mark Hilder finished 41st, 57:48 and Adele Foxwell, who was in the London Marathon the previous weekend and together with Sue Campbell raised a fantastic £2,000 for the donkey sanctuary, finished 42nd in a time of 58:47.

Alan Morbey was 46th, 1:00:54; Andy Sayers 55th, 1:04:21, Mark Harding-Perrott 63rd, 1:10:21; Heather Lowman-Riggs 68th, 1:11:43 and Angela Kerr 73rd, 1:13:46. Susie Thoennissen, Rose Thoennissen and Louise Lacey ran together and were joint 73rd, 1:16:20 with Martin Kerr 80th, 1:21:34.

As a result of the London Marathon Michelle Bee was really pleased to have raised £2,000 for the Royal Air Forces Association, with more money still coming in!

On a fleeting visit to Birmingham (to see Saints play Villa) Carol Austin made a return visit to the Cannon Hill Parkrun and secured a personal best, returning a time of 21:08 (first W50, 66th out of 460, fifth woman) finally smashing the 80 per cent age-grade with 81.16 per cent.
