Lyme Regis Golf Club professional Duncan Driver, pictured above, has been rewarded for his stalwart efforts in the club and with the County Junior Academy by being nominated as one of the top 100 professionals in the country.
The award made by Golf Monthly has been in recognition of his work in the club Junior academy and in his role as the lead professional with the County Junior Academy. Under his tuition and guidance Lyme now boasts a significant number of single figure junior golfers, some of whom have gone on to achieve a handicap of scratch or better.
Driver, 41, started his playing career as a member of Axe Cliff Golf Club and then, at the age of 11 joined Lyme Regis where he has been a member ever since. Then followed a brief period when he played on the professional circuit where he achieved some success. However, he then decided to return to his first love of teaching. He started his teaching career at Windwhistle Golf Club and moved to Lyme Regis as the Club Professional where he has been for the last 10 years.
