Exe Equestrian Club held their 2014 AGM and Awards Evening at Lympstone Village Hall with Collette Ashby-Carne welcoming members and their guests.

Her welcome reviewed the season and she was able to report that the weather had been very kind over the season with the exception of the Spring Pleasure ride which had had to be cancelled owing to the elements!

The Novice and Open Shows were once again very well received, but entries for both had been down on recent years and that could be a problem that will need addressing given the fact that expenses across the board have risen. She did say that there were some positive plans in place for 2015 and it is hoped that memberships will rise over the coming 12 months.

In terms of the awards in the senior section Amanda Williams took first place with Laura Quick second and Lyndsey McDonald third. The others in the top eight were; Janie McDonald (4th), Emily Titcombe, Ellen Arnold, Christine Bowyer and Sheila Churchward (joint fifth) and Barbara McRink (8th).

William Charlton took first pace in the junior section with Rachel Brown in second and Fern Acheson third.

The other placings for the final top eight were; Felicity Parkhouse-Wadeson (4th), Rebekah Radford (5th), Charlotte Timms (6th), Millie Parr (7th) and Amalia Zervou (8th).

Next on the Exe Equestrian agenda is a Fun Quiz with general and equine questions taking place at the Cat and Fiddle Inn on Tuesday, November 11 from 7.30pm and all are most welcome to join the fun.
