The first Devon and Cornwall point to point pony races of the season take place on Sunday, Feb 3 at the Mid Devon point to point at Black Forest Lodge.

The 138 race is off at 11am, the 148s at 11.20am and seven high class entries have been received for each race.

There are several new partnerships making their debut. Tyler Heard takes up the reigns on Bejowans Bouquet, Tamby Welch makes his debut on Bronze Lawrance, and Hamish Clarke rides his new pony Talponciau Perfect Print.

Rachel Vicery makes her debut in the sport and is joined by Lorcan Williams and Jordan Williams who travel down from Wales with Penway Tap Dance and Oscar, and Emma Lawson on Diptford Melika.

The 148s will also be hotly contested. Tommy Eyston has her first race on Springs while his former rider Jordan Williams partners Peateaoh. Michael Treneer takes over Plym Steps from his brother Barnaby. Jessies Girl (Lucy Mager), Mick The Miller (Millie Wonnacott) and Tarka (Tina Smith) take on reigning champ Hannah Welch on Vadlawalkover.
