Theres a good entry for the Dartmoor pony races on Saturday - nine in the 138 race and a full house of 10 for the 148s.

The first race is off at 1pm and the ponies race in the opposite direction to the finish so there is good viewing of the closing stages. The venue always provides close finishes and attracts a large crowd of spectators. As well as a host of trophies for the first three home - for the first time there will be perpetual trophies for the first Dartmoor qualified ponies home in each race, presented by the hunt committee, one of which is the historic ‘Over The Walls’ Trophy.

138 runners: Balfour Skipper, Bejowans Bouquet, Brimclose Toffee Brulee, Bronze Lawrance, Cyfartha Moriah, Diptford Melika, Ninfield Millionaires Delight, Rosslayne Enchante, Talponciau Perfect Print.

148 entries: Annie IV, Dandy Heights, Diptford Arabella, Lisa Says, Miss Mopsy, Petite Pois, Plym Steps, She’s so Cool, The Dinky Dude, Vadlawalkover.
