Exeter Racecourse to stage additional race fixture on Tuesday

Exeter Racecourse has come to the rescue of trainers desperate to run their horses by staging an additional fixture on Tuesday (January 14).

The recent storms have left many courses water logged resulting in a reduced fixture list and leaving trainers with very few options to run their horses.

General manager Tim Darby said: “The race calendar has been greatly reduce in recent weeks due to the high rainfall so we are delighted to stage this additional fixture. It’s been a very tricky time for trainers with so few opportunities to run their horses due to the extreme weather and we are only too pleased to help them out.”

The first race comes under starters’ orders at 12.45pm and entrance to the fixture will be £10 per person.

The Martin Pipe Bar will be open and on site caterers Jaspers will provide hot food.

Owners and Trainers will be open as usual with annual members’ given access as well to due to the unique circumstances of the meeting.

Seven races are on the card and gates will open at 11.45pm.
