Exmouth tennis youngsters hold their own at Flybe Mini Masters Grand final

Three budding young tennis players from Exmouth Tennis Centre proudly took their places in the Mini Masters Grand final sponsored by Flybe which was held last Sunday at the Exmouth Tennis centre.

The prestigious tournament brings together budding young Tennis enthusiasts from Cornwall and Devon and this season three of the eight finalists were from the hosting centre!

Benedict Stanbury-Flood, Lauren McGinnis and Sebastian Stanbury-Flood are all aged just ten years and all three played really well throughout the competition.

Benedict finished as a runner-up and he said: “It was a very challenging tournament with a very high level of play. I think I played well to get my result even though I had to play my brother on the way. It was a great experience and I am very happy to be the runner-up.”

Head coach Liam Storey said: “It was all very impressive and I must commend our own three players for their good sportsmanship, dedication and great play.

Whilst his tennis companions were battling it away on home ground Callum Kenny was also holding his own on another tennis court as he secured victory in the Taunton event.
