Feniton trio bowl their way to Section Three final of the County Mixed Triples competition

Feniton men lost their County Trophy match to Madeira by 56 shots to 94, however, both teams won their respective Over-60s Triples League matches, writes Roger Smith.

The B team maintained their fine form, defeating Tiverton West End, 45-31 with the winning rinks being; L Crook, C Maynard and D Conbeer, 27-17 and A Morgan, D Downs and D Coyne, 18-14.

The A team achieved a much-needed, enjoying a 33-26 success over Culm Vale A, a result that ended their disappointing sequence of results. The winning rink was, D Sanders, A Smith and R Smith, 18-11.

The ladies had an excellent 36-20 win away at Topsham in the Over-50s League, with the winning rinks being; A Pritchard, A Coyne and J Smith, 19-8, and D Bowden, D Phillips and R Veitch, 17-12.

The mixed team had a narrow 75-74 win away at Bovey Tracey where the lone Feniton winning rink was the one of G Skinner, D Bowden, S Kury and A Kury, 25-14, though another of the rinks was tied.

They followed this with a 76-63 success over visiting Chudleigh with the winning rinks; A Murdoch, D Bowden, R North and R Cooke, 27-15 and J Skinner, B Bowden, M Evans and D Conbeer, 19-13.

Thirty-four pupils from Feniton Primary School enjoyed a morning of bowls under the supervision of club coach, Ian Veitch.

Last, but certainly not least, well done, to Jim Skinner, Ruby Veitch and Ian Veitch, who have reached the Section Three final of the County Mixed Triples competition.
