Feniton B continue fine start to Over-60s league campaign

In the men’s over 60s league the Feniton B team continued their excellent start to the season with a win at home on both rinks against Budleigh Salterton B by 39-28, writes Roger Smith.

The winning rinks were G Philllips, L Ley and R Clarke, 24-14 and E Goodenough, G Skinner and D Evans, 15-14. The A team were soundly beaten at home on both rinks by Marina B by 20-50.

In their first match in the NBTL the Feniton ladies’ won on both rinks away at Exeter St Thomas by 38-31. The winning rinks were; J Smith, A Pritchard and G North, 20-15, and G Blackmore, J Mitchell and A Coyne, 18-16.

They followed this with a draw 33-33 away at Topsham where the winning Feniton rink was the one of J Smith, Ru Clarke and G North 24-13.

The mixed team had a resounding win against visiting Bovey Tracy by 82-52. The winning rinks were L Crook, V Jones, A Smith and R North, 23-9, C Maynard, J Smith, G Skinner and D Evans, 22-11, and F Jones, E Goodenough, L Ley and R Smith, 22-11. This was followed by an exciting 47-all draw away at Tiverton Park.

Thee winning rinks were J Skinner, G. Skinner and D Evans, 21-13 and T Young, J Livings and A Kury, 15-11.

Finally, they suffered a defeat at Uffculme, despite winning on three out of the five rinks, they lost by 86-100. The winning rinks were G Perryman, R Cooke and K Lovering, 21-18, L Crook, F Jones, A Coyne and P Spreadbury, 22-19, and G Blackmore, G Skinner and J O’ Sullivan, 14-12.
