Feniton were forced to settle for a draw on their visit to Speeds Meadow Cullompton.
With the Mid Devon side’s main pitch passed as unfit by the home club the game was switched to the fourth pitch at the Speeds Meadow complex.
Blues boss Mark Kingdon said: “It was a much smaller pitch than usual and that made for a tight encounter with little room for either team to express themselves. We played well and a big plus is the clean sheet. It’s a point gained rather than two dropped as they are a strong outfit.”
Kieran Johnson had a fine game for Feniton putting the shackles on former Exeter City and Tiverton Town player Richard Pears who led the Cully forward line. Elliot Dyer returned to central defence and Matt Kingdom was back between the posts and the return of both is a timely boost for the Blues who host table topping Exmouth Amateurs on Saturday (3pm) at Acland Park.
