Seaton Ladies’ football team picked up their first ever league point at the 29th time of asking in nearly two seasons, writes Adrian Hughes.
a 1-1 draw at home to Bideford Ladies on Sunday was met at the final whistle with huge celebrations amongst players and supporters alike.
Trailing 1-0 at half time Seaton pressed Bideford in the second half and equalised with a superb effort from Jemima Coleman. One on one with the keeper her first effort crashed against the post she then picked up the rebound and went past the keeper only to see the shot blocked by a defender. As it came her way again she tucked it away at the third attempt.
It was a great performance from the girls carrying on from last week’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Ilfracombe. As confidence rises, who knows when they will be celebrating their first victory.
