Axminster Town welcomed Steve Perryman MBE to Tiger Way last Friday night for Tottenham Hotspur legend, and more recently director of football at Exeter City, to conduct the draw to discover which company would be on the front, the back and also the short of the Tigers’ first team kit this season, writes Alan West.

Town chairman Andy Hurford was with the former Spurs star to conduct the draw at half-time in the pre-season friendly between Town and Bridport.

The Town chairman said: “We must say a huge thanks to all those who supported the sponsor draw and we are delighted that Harris & Harris Estate Agents will now be on the front of the shirts, Champion Holmes, will be on the back of the shirt and the The Lamb Inn, Axminster will be on the shorts.

“It was a cracking evening, made very special by the attendance of Steve Perryman and of course it’s always good to see the team holding their own against Bridport. We hope it bodes well for the coming season!”

The Tigers pre-season continues this Saturday (August 4) when they welcome St Blazey, from The South West Peninsula League Division One West. Kick-off at Tiger Way is at 3pm. The opening game of the new league season is the following Friday (August 10) when the Tigers entertain Sidmouth Town in a mouth-watering East Devon derby (7.30pm).
