Beer ease their Fresha situation with fine win

The Fishermen took a big step towards banishing any further fears of being drawn into a battle to avoid the top flight drop with a clinical performance to comfortably despatch the students.

The in-form Richard Walker netted two more and the other Beer goals came from John Cooper and James Melville.

Beer boss Phil Crabb said: “We needed that, but I have always felt that this team has it in them to deliver the goods at all times. It’s a healthier situation for us as we ease our way clear of danger. There’s still work to do and we probably need another four wins to make certain and, with ten to play, that’s well within this squads capabilities.

Next up for Beer is Saturday’s trip to a Feniton side who have hit a recent wobble, taking one point from their last two Fresha league outings.

Crabb says: “We raise our game against the top sides and I am sure we’ll see that at Acland Park on Saturday.”
