Clyburn nets cracking goal as Honiton Troopers Under-9 disappoint at Central.

Archant

Central United 6, Honiton Troopers 1

Honiton Troopers Under-9s dished up what can only be described as a disappointing display from the team with few highlights.

Lewis Clyburn scored the best goal of the game with a fine lob over the keeper from outside the box, Harvey Lee made several fine saves and Chris Lucas was again superb winning tackles, passing well and working hard for the team. Louis Stevens played well in the second half when he dropped back into defence.

It could be due to the large pitches or lack of recent training sessions, but there were to many of the team not working hard enough during the second game which was reflected in the scoreline. Central worked hard as a team, defending and attacking in numbers, unfortunately the Troopers didn’t!

Player of the Day was very close between two outstanding players, Harvey Lee came close having made several fine saves, but the award went to Chris Lucas who battled throughout both games and worked hard for the team breaking up many attacks often when outnumbered by Central players.
