The Devon and Exeter Football League saw a new season of Premier Division football return on the penultimate weekend of August and it produced goals galore with now fewer than 41 scored in the seven matches played.

There were two Friday night games with Feniton being edged out 2-1 at Topsham Town and that was also the score at Witheridge where Okehampton were the visitors.

The five Saturday matches produced an eye-catching 35 goals.

Much fancied Cronies scored 14 without conceding in their home game against a young, but nonetheless battling Exmouth Town Reserves.

Seaton Town won the East Devon derby, beating Upottery 4-1, and the Coastal derby between Lyme Regis and Beer Albion saw the former win 3-2.

Colyton made a super start to top flight life with a 7-1 win over Heavitree United and Exwick were 3-0 winners at Clyst Valley.
