Town’s second string finally returned to Mountbatten Park action when they took to their home pitch for the first time since late November and they comfortably brushed aside the Mid Devon visitors.

An eighth win of the season keeps the side well on track for promotion out of Fresha Division Six.

Ryan Dunn (3), Ben Price (2 pens), Ryan Pike, Joe Knight, Aaron Pearse, Cob White and Marc Bowles. The latter was mobbed by all his teammates as he was playing his final game before leaving the area for pastures new in London.

Town first team boss Kev Blackwell says: “Everyone at the football club wishes him well with all of his future endeavours. Mind you, we also all hope we have not seen the last of him on our parish!”

On Saturday the Town Reserves entertain Ottery St Mary.
