Honiton Terrors Under-10s see off Avishayes in thrilling cup tie

08:32 16 January 2014

Honiton Terrors 3, Avishayes 1

Honiton Terrors Under-10s returned to action on Sunday after a lengthy lay-off owing to weather and the festive break.

They entertained Avishayes in a cup tie and the match began well with both teams showing a good level of passing ability.

For the first 15 minutes it was end-to-end action with Elliot Holdsworth and Harvey Newton linking up well. Terrors broke the deadlock when a Dominic McCreadie long-shot found the back of the net.

The goal saw the Terrors confidence grow significantly and they were solid at the back with Connor Harrison and Matt Bevis playing well.

The lead was doubled thanks to the approach play of Zac Harrison and Jacob Fisher which ended with the latter netting his first ever competitive goal.

Ben Lapping and James Pring went close to adding to the lead whilst Joseph Charlton showed great skill in midfield.

Avishayes halved the deficit and it needed a number of stunning saves from keeper Harry Horn to deny them a second before Harrison restored the Terrors two goal advantage with a slick finish.

Jacob Fisher and Zac Harrison were awarded the Man of the Match award, but this was certainly a game when every single one of the Terrors players on duty gave their all for the cause and the team fully deserved their place in then next round of the cup.
