Honiton Town’s game at home to Sidmouth Town became the latest in a long run of postponements.

Town boss Kevin Blackwell lamented the loss of yet another game saying: “It really is beyond a joke now. It seems almost week by week that the weather does its worst. We were even denied training time last midweek when we drove to Colyton but feared the worsening conditions would leave us struggling to get home after training so binned the session.”

In the ten weeks since Town won 4-3 at Clyst Valley Reserves on November 17, the team have seen action just twice, once in the league and once in the Devon Senior Cup.

They have suffered postponements on eight of the last ten Saturday match days!

On Saturday Town play Westexe Rovers who sit one place and one point below them in the Division Two table having played twelve games this season – twice as many as Town!

Blackwell says; “Traditionally they (Westexe) are a strong opponent for us and I am sure this will be no different. The key for me is for us to get a game, any game – we need to start playing football again!”
