Central City 4, Honiton Troopers 2

Honiton Troopers Under-9s were narrowly beaten on their visit to Exeter for their latest Exeter and District Youth League game.

Troopers adopted a more defensive formation, but were still able to take the game to the home side, creating several chances in the first half.

Neither team could breach the others impressive defence and half-time arrived with the score still 0-0.

Straight after the restart Lewis Clyburn broke forward and scored with a fine finish. The Troopers then collectively fell asleep and conceded three quick goals. As the team rallied Louie Stevens won the ball on the halfway line and found Peter Osbourne who drove forward and finished from outside the box into the corner of the net.

As the Troopers looked for the equalising goal it was Central who broke away to score the game’s sixth and final goal.
