Just one Fresha game starts - and that doesn’t finish on another soggy Saturday for local football teams

Football generic picture
Just a single Fresha League game was started on Saturday and it failed to go the distance with the referee abandoning the game at Kentisbeare six minutes into the second half as the weather worsened.
It all means that since the turn of the year the Fresha Devon and Exeter League has seen just 33 games played!
That equates to 33 matches from three match days when 183 matches were scheduled!
The hardest hit section is Division Six which has seen just one game played since the start of the year!
The full breakdown across the nine divisions of the Fresha League is:
Premier (6), Div 1 (4), Div 2 (2), Div 3 (4), Div 4 (2), Div 5 (5), Div 6 (1), Div 7 (4) and Div 8 (5).
Clearly there remains plenty of time for the postponed matches to be fitted in, but that could change if the wet weather continues or a spell of cold weather strikes!
