Seaton Town’s poor run continues

Newtown 3, Seaton Town 0

Seaton Town were one of the few sides to see action on another weather hit Fresha league match day.

The game was played on the seemingly weather-resistant surface at Broadclyst, but there was no joy for Town as they slipped to a 3-0 defeat a fifth reversal in 13 Premier Division outings.

It’s now over two months since Town last recorded a victory, that a 2-1 triumph over Beer Albion that was then a third successive win for Josh Stunell’s side.

Since then they have been in action four times losing to the Divisions top two of Hatherleigh and Feniton, drawing with Willand Rovers Reserves and now this defeat to top four side Newtown.

On Saturday Town host University Reserves who sit ninth, two places and four points behind them in the table.

They follow that with a midweek match next Wednesday evening (January 30) when they meet Feniton in the East Devon Senior Cup last eight with the match being played at Ottery St Mary (7pm).

Seaton Town Reserves entertained Lords XI in a Division Four game that ended 2-2.

Jimmy Matthews and Seth Wakeley scored the Town goals. The side are without a victory since the opening day of the season when they beat Axminster Town Reserves 2-1.

They have no game this weekend, returning to action the Saturday after (February 2) with a trip to Exmouth Amateurs Reserves.
