The Fishermen travelled to Exeter without half a dozen regulars and put up a spirited display.

Boss Ross Moughton was forced to include himself as the only substitute.

He said: “To be honest it was one of those days when we could still be playing now and still would not have netted a goal!”

The Beer back four of Sam White, Mark Ward, Sam Phillips and Shaun Denslow were outstanding with Ward and White sharing the Man of the Match award.

Moughton said: “As I see it, with four to play we need one more win to make sure we start next season in the same Division.”

Beer play Heavitree on Saturday in their last home game of the season and then must face Axmouth United and Lords XI to complete their Division Five campaign.
