This coming Sunday (February 3) sees the Exmouth Harriers Fulfords Five Miles Road Race take place, writes Dave Eveleigh.

Over 170 advance entries have been accepted so with on the day entries still to come there should be a field of over 200 starting near the Sports Centre before tackling a two lap course which takes in part of the sea front and Rolle Street.

A glance at the entries as they stand suggests that Tom Merson,, running in the colours of the promoting club (of which he is a second claim member), will be one of the favourites for overall winner.

In the veteran categories the Men Over-70 group looks very interesting with the Home club’s Mick Allen and Ray Elston taking on former Exmouth runner (now with Sidmouth) John Perratt. With marshals needed only a few Harriers will be racing, but Carly Audritt will be among those and hoping to continue her recent progress.
