Gabb, Palmer, Donnan and Walker trumph in Axe Valley Four Ball Better Ball competition

There was slightly improved weather at Axe Cliff for the staging of the Four Ball Better Ball Competition, writes Janet Dack.
This meeting had previously been postponed after the captains drive-in.
Club captain Basil Dean, seniors captains John White, ladies’ captain Sandra Walker and juniors captain Alex Palmer, drove off the first tee with a shotgun start.
The winners were Andy Gabb, Simon Palmer, Matt Donnan and Christ Walker.
Second place went to Paul Curtin, Reese Hales, Tony Strong and Caroline Bond.
Mike Cottam, Nigel Garwood , Gerald Turner and Steve Reed were third.
The weather was very windy with heavy downpours, but a great time was had by all.
