It’s show time, it’s tee time! Visitors to next week’s Devon County Show at Westpoint, Exeter, will be offered an open invitation to get into golf.
The Devon Golf Partnership – which works to grow the game in the county – will be at the show for all three days, 17-19 May, offering free golf lessons on their stand, together with a putting competition and a chipping challenge.
There will also be the chance to sign up for various lesson and membership offers from a number of Devon golf clubs and facilities: Fingle Glen, Woodbury Park, Dawlish Warren, Yelverton, Downes Crediton, Torbay, Honiton, East Devon, Dartmouth, Thurlestone and Royal North Devon.
Committee members from the Devon men’s and women’s county organisations, together with volunteer coaches from UCP Marjon in Plymouth and the University of Exeter, will be on hand to help their visitors enjoy a golfing adventure.
Craig Townsend, the Devon Partnership’s County Development Officer, said: “The Devon County Show attracts over 80,000 visitors every year and is considered the premier outdoor show in the south west. We’re looking forward to welcoming many of them and helping them get into golf.”
