Golfers hope for fine weather

Once again, despite the bad weather, the Axe Cliff Seniors were able to complete a further round of the Winter League Programme - the sixth, in fact, writes Janet Dack.
Although no team has opened up a commanding lead, the winners on Friday, Rob Heard and Hugh Willis who scored 37 points, are mounting quite a challenge.
In second place with 35 points came Bill Polley and Dave Weston with Nick Povey in third place on 34 points. There was one two, from Bob Berry.
Ladies - to welcome the new year the ladies of Axe Cliff, competed for the Hangover Cup a 15 hole Stableford. The winner for 2013 is Pauline Willis. Second place went to Lesley Crawford - here’s hoping for good golfing and good weather for the coming year !!.
