Good at Orienteering? Next year the Regionals are being held closer to home in the New Forest and being organised by the Sarum club.
There are a number of training days and weekends that the SW squad hold during the year. Any young person of good 'orange' standard and at least 12 years old is eligible to go to those sessions.
Tess Stone, of Devon Orienteering Club, helps with the training camps, so if you are interested in attending please get in touch on 01297 553421 or email plum.pebble@gmail.com.
The training sessions are subsidised by the SW Orienteering Association, so minimal costs are involved.
There is an Orienteering Relay event happening on July 8 at Bicton. It is being organised by Devon Orienteering Club, who are trying to get as many schools and family teams involved as possible. Even if you have limited orienteering experience this is an event to try. The navigation is not too challenging and the distances vary from 1.2km to 3km so there is something for everyone.
Schools and families teams are £10 to enter, individuals are £5 for adults and £2 for children.
Please contact John Dyson for more information and to enter the event on 01395 512416.
