Hi Q dominate against Toucans

With just the two games taking place it was an opportunity for Hi Q to extend their lead at the top and for JD Tyres to move back into third place, depending on how well Sidmouth Toucans did against Hi Q.

In the first week of the season JD Tyres had forfeited their game against Howden Hawks with the loss of three points – tonight they made amends with a fine victory in which Dana Watts had a great say at GS. In the first quarter they moved 13-5 ahead.

In the second period the game was closer with Nicky Vile playing well for Hawks at GA, so that at half way it was 23-13 to JD. The third period went goal for goal so that going into the final period JD still led by 10 goals at 31-21. The final quarter saw JD Tyres dig deep into their resources to end the game winners at 46-26 with Hawks picking up a point.

If Toucans could gain a point from their game with unbeaten Hi Q then they would remain in third place. It was not to be though as Hi Q proved too strong for them and recorded a 43-18 win to hold onto the top spot and their 100% record. Hi Q got off to a great start to lead 11-3 at quarter time, increasing this to 26-7 at half way thanks to good play from Stacey Salter at centre. With Sarah Sparks at WA doing well for Sidmouth Toucans the third quarter went goal for goal before Hi Q dominated the final session to record their 8th straight victory.
