Ottery St Mary’s Ed Hollier raced to a clear victory at Torbay Motor Club’s first sprint at Clay Pigeon Raceway on Sunday, taking fastest time of the day in his Hyabusa-engined Pilbeam MP62 by a margin of over one and half seconds.
His winning first-run was the only time under the 70 second mark, with Yeovil’s Ian Cameron (Chaplin Hornet) the best of the remaining field with a second run of 71.59 seconds. The tight kart-circuit, midway between Yeovil and Dorchester, suited smaller-engined racing cars, Hollier’s second run of 70.41 seconds would also have been good enough for victory.
